Advanced Diploma of Journalism

The Joint Program in Journalism offered by the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) and Centennial College is a unique collaboration that combines academic rigour with hands-on professional training. This four-year program integrates theoretical journalism studies with practical media training. Students begin their studies at UTSC, focusing on foundational courses in journalism and media studies. Centennial College’s Story Arts Centre for intensive hands-on training in news reporting, multimedia storytelling, podcasting, and video production. Through this educational offering, students receive training to excel in the modern media environment by learning about digital storytelling with data journalism and social media leadership. New graduates apply their knowledge to create truthful, meaningful journalistic content.
