Certificate in Theological Studies

The Certificate in Theological Studies at Knox College is a post-baccalaureate program within the Education discipline designed to provide a university-level foundation in Christian studies and theological education. Program language requirementTest of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), Duolingo English Test (DET), or Global Test of English Communication (GTEC) results are needed if English is not your first language. 80 on the online TOEFL, 6.5 on the IELTS, 105 on the DET, or 1200 on the GTEC is the accepted minimum score. To inquire about taking a proficiency test, please contact the Office of Admissions even if your secondary education was completed in English.

Program entry requirementAn undergraduate degree, or its equivalent, from an institution of higher learning, college, or Indigenous institute is accepted by the University of Toronto with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7/4.0 (70%; B-). The SCP Cert cannot be awarded to a student who does not hold an undergraduate degree or a verified educational equivalent that has been examined and accepted by TST. It is not a given that fulfilling the MPS admission requirements equates to fulfilling the SCP Certificate admission requirements. Note: Before applying to Knox College, please check your transcripts to verify CGPA equivalency if your undergraduate degree was awarded by a post-secondary institution with a grading system different from the 4.0 GPA scale.

Part timeworkEntirely: During planned school breaks, such as the summer or winter holidays, international students studying in Canada are frequently permitted to work entirely. Even though NPU might not be on the list of approved universities, you should consider returning to Canada to finish your undergraduate degree or enrolling in a post-graduate program at one of the universities eligible for the PGWP
