Program language requirementA minimum of 6.0 is required for each of the four tests of the International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking). Minimum scores of 80 on the Internet-Based Test (TOEFL® iBT), 60 on the Paper-Delivered Test, or 550 on the Paper-Based Test are required for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). In your TOEFL application, include institution reference code 8686 to request that scores be forwarded directly to NSCC. The average score on the Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest) is 4.5. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB): Each test requires a minimum score of 8. The CLBPT, or Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test, needs to be recognized. Minimum Band 60 on the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL). The minimum score on the Michigan English Test (MET) is 59. The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) requires a minimum of 55 test points.

The curriculum emphasizing person-centered planning, advocacy, communication tactics, and community development equips graduates with the skills necessary to effectively serve individuals with a range of abilities. There is a rising awareness of the need for inclusive services and support networks for people with disabilities in Pakistan and other nations. A growing number of people are becoming aware of disability rights and inclusion, which is driving increasing demand for experts in advocacy, care, and support. Graduates of this program can make substantial contributions to community-based organizations, social welfare, healthcare, education, and education in Pakistan. They can also help to develop inclusive practices and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. In other nations, experts in this subject are vital to the functioning of educational institutions, advocacy groups, rehabilitation facilities, and governmental and non-governmental organizations. They help create environments that are more receptive to the requirements of individuals with disabilities.
Program entry requirementTo participate in work placements for many of our programs, you will need to provide a current, official criminal record check and a vulnerable sector check. A conviction may affect your ability to complete program requirements. - All Health and Human Services programs require First Aid/CPR certification as a graduation requirement. For specific program requirements, please refer to additional Health and Human Services program details. - Many Health and Human Services programs have additional requirements, including immunizations. Some work placements may require specific immunizations, for which you will need to provide proof. For more details, please refer to additional Health and Human Services program requirements. - It may take up to 10 months to complete all required immunizations. Failure to complete immunizations could delay your work placement and impact your ability to meet program and graduation requirements. - As part of your studies at NSCC, you will create a portfolio showcasing your work. This portfolio will highlight your achievements and demonstrate your skills to potential employers.

Part timeworkEntirely: During planned school breaks, such as the summer or winter holidays, international students studying in Canada are frequently permitted to work entirely. Under 20 Hours (With Possible Exceptions): International students may only be able to work part-time for up to 20 hours a week during ordinary semesters. Post-study work opportunityCanada's Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) program: After completing their studies, qualifying international graduates are permitted to work in Canada for a maximum of three years under the terms of this government-mandated scheme. To be eligible, your course of study must be from an approved educational institution, and you must apply for the PGWP as soon as you graduate. Even though NPU might not be on the list of approved universities, you should consider returning to Canada to finish your undergraduate degree or enrolling in a post-graduate program at one of the universities eligible for the PGWP
