Program language requirementA minimum of 6.0 is required for each of the four tests of the International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS Academic Test) (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking). Minimum scores of 80 on the Internet-Based Test (TOEFL® iBT), 60 on the Paper-Delivered Test, or 550 on the Paper-Based Test are required for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). In your TOEFL application, include institution reference code 8686 to request that scores be forwarded directly to NSCC. The average score on the Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees (CanTest) is 4.5. Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB): Each test requires a minimum score of 8. The CLBPT, or Canadian Language Benchmarks Placement Test, needs to be recognized. Minimum Band 60 on the Canadian Academic English Language Assessment (CAEL). The minimum score on the Michigan English Test (MET) is 59. The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) requires a minimum of 55 test points.
