The University of Liverpool is a higher education public research institute and a core member of the Russell group situated in the region of Liverpool, England. It came into existence in 1881 as a college, and in 1903 it received its Royal Charter, enabling it to confer degrees. It is recognized as a member of six civic “red brick” organizations and was the first to be recognized as The Original Red Brick.
