Only the honors streams in biochemistry, ecology, plant biology, zoology, and cellular, molecular, and microbial biology are open to students applying straight out of high school. Students in high school who wish to pursue one of these majors in a non-honors program should apply to Biological Sciences or another science major and then request a change of program to the desired major at a later time. While some high school courses are not necessary for entrance, they may serve as requirements for first-year courses; students are advised to select classes relating to their planned major.
