Scope of the programThe rigorous and extensive Doctor of Philosophy in Theological Studies program at the University of Trinity College encourages students to engage in critical and creative inquiry while fostering advanced scholarly study in theology. This program's global reach allows it to accommodate a range of theological perspectives and research interests, making it especially pertinent to the complex religious environments in Pakistan and other nations. The Ph.D. program at Trinity College provides a distinctive forum for researchers to study Islamic theology alongside Christian theology, engage in interfaith discourse, and conduct comparative religious studies in Pakistan. In this country, Islam is the prevalent religion. This comparative method fosters a greater comprehension of the theological, cultural, and historical settings that influence religious practices and beliefs in Pakistan and enhances the academic experience. Academics can explore the complex relationships between Sufism, Islamic law, and the various forms of faith practiced in the nation, adding to the larger conversation about religious tolerance and cohabitation. The program's worldwide reach extends beyond Pakistan and promotes the study of theological changes in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. It covers ethics, social justice, and how globalization affects religious traditions. Students are equipped with methodological tools and critical research skills to assess and grasp religious texts, concepts, and practices in their historical and cultural settings.
