The University of Northern British Columbia is a university serving the northern region of the Canadian province of British Columbia. UBC is not affiliated with UNBC, which was established in 1990. It focuses on becoming a leader in undergraduate and graduate education. The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) offers a variety of undergraduate scholarships to help students finance their education. Scholarships are awarded to applicants based on their academic merit, financial need, and involvement in extracurricular activities.

Undergraduate Awards
Info for high school – grade 12 students (and for new undergraduates with less than 18 credit hours of coursework)
Early Entrance Awards –
- On February 16th, recipients received emails informing them of their award offers.
- Submit an application for the General and Entrance Awards.
- April 1st, open till midnight.
- Provide the necessary corroborating documentation.
You will receive a user ID and PIN after being accepted by UNBC. International students must first pay their International Tuition Deposit to access the online awards application. Through your myUNBC Student Account, you can complete the online award applications.
After receiving an admission offer, you can find and apply for UNBC Awards online in your myUNBC Student Account. You will receive an email with setup instructions for your myunbc account. Next, sign in to your myUNBC Student Account and select Awards & Financial Aid from the Student Applications menu. Select the “Financial Aid” tab from the top menu, then complete the application.
Information for transfer and current undergraduate students
Proceed to Student. The applications are Application, logging into your myUNBC Student Account and selecting Awards & Financial Aid. After selecting “Financial Aid” from the top menu, fill out the relevant online applications.
- For the January 2024–May 2024 semester entry, undergraduate students accepted to UNBC should apply for Entry Awards and General Awards, Available till April 1st at midnight.
- Undergraduate students should apply for (>17 Credits worth of Undergraduate Awards and General Awards before midnight on April 1st if they plan to continue their programs.
