Program language requirement	Most international students are required to take language tests. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is the preferred test, and students can take either the Internet-based (iBT) or paper-based (PBT) version. For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 80 on the iBT, 213 on the computer-based test, or 550 on the paper-based test is required. If taking the paper-based test, the Test of Written English (TWE) is also recommended, with a minimum score of 4.5. Alternatively, students can take the Academic version of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a band score of 6.5 or better. This test provides an alternative to the TOEFL. Vanier College is an approved ETS® Certified Test Administration Site and offers the option to take the TOEFL Internet-Based Test on-site. Students interested in taking the test at Vanier should contact the Language School for details.
