| Scope of the program | For students in Pakistan and other nations who want to pursue a career that combines business acumen with communication abilities, the Fraser International College (FIC) University Transfer Program (Stage 2) in Communication & Business offers a helpful route. International students who have completed their foundational courses at FIC and wish to transfer to Simon Fraser University (SFU) should apply to this program. This program offers nationally and internationally recognized education in two of the most critical subjects in the contemporary global economy, business, and communication, to students from Pakistan and other countries. The global demand for graduates with a background in business and communication is significant. With the rise of digital media, entrepreneurship, and corporate sectors, Pakistan's business landscape is changing quickly, and this curriculum provides a good starting point. Graduates can consider professions in media management, entrepreneurship, public relations, marketing, advertising, and corporate communication. Particularly pertinent are these skills in Pakistan's growing financial, e-commerce, telecommunications, and digital marketing sectors. Similar to this, the success of commercial operations in other nations—including established markets and developing economies—depends on the integration of communication tactics. Professionals with knowledge of corporate communication, cross-cultural communication, brand management, and strategic marketing are precious in today's globalized company environment. The curriculum of this degree places equal emphasis on theoretical knowledge and practical skills, thereby preparing students for leadership positions in government agencies, media organizations, startups, and international corporations. |
| Program entry requirement | Please note the following updates: The Faculty of Communication, Art, and Technology offers various program pathways. All (direct) students must complete academic literacy courses ALC101/ALAC101 and ILS101/ILSA101 unless exempt. Updates to required courses for transferring to the Faculty will start in Spring 2024.
