Exceptions
- Full-fee scholarships will not be awarded to individual “privately sponsored students.” They will also not be granted to students supported by stipends provided to a sole individual without a formal agreement between the University and the Sponsor. This requirement does not apply to students nominated in grant applications made to recognised funding bodies where a formal application is subject to peer review.
- Students receiving overseas government funding are ineligible for full-fee Scholarships unless a Memorandum of Understanding exists between the University and the Sponsor covering such awards.
- Generally speaking, students who want to pursue a second (or subsequent) degree at the same level or one lower than their most excellent level will not be eligible for fee scholarships. In exceptional instances, though, a scholarship might be taken into consideration if the student can show a significant shift in behaviour and at least five years have gone by since the last equivalent award was given.Â

Conditions of Funding
Successful HDA Scholars must participate in the HDA Research Training Program during their candidature. Also, the curriculum includes a 20-hour practicum, a mentorship component, and required participation and help at HDA events.
The yearly renewal of top-up funding will also depend on your capacity to fulfill university requirements for your postgraduate degree and the ongoing funding availability from the Channel 7 Children’s Research Foundation.
Acknowledgement of HDA in research publications.
Benefits
Research students pursuing a higher degree at the University of Adelaide are eligible for a 100% tuition cost waiver. Up to two years of tuition for a Research Master’s degree and up to three years (with a possible six-month extension) for a Doctor of Philosophy are covered by this waiver.
Note: The length of the full-fee award is the same as that of the stipend award. If the stipend scholarship funding stops or is cancelled, the university is not required to continue offering the Full-Fee Scholarship.
