AHURI Postgraduate Scholarship Top-up

Graduate students who are interested in taking part in the AHURI National Housing Research Program (NHRP) can apply for a $7,000 incentive.

EligibilityScholarships for master’s by Research or PhD students, both domestic and foreign, that provide a primary stipend
  1. This award, which is contingent upon achieving excellent academic standing, will grant a $7000 annual stipend allowance.
  2. Scholarships for Master of Philosophy (MPhil) recipients are avaialble out for a maximum of 1.75 years.
  3. The scholarship can be given to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) recipient for a maximum of three years.

You must:

1. Enroll as a domestic or foreign student.
2. Have a primary stipend scholarship from the University of Sydney or an RTP.

1. During the duration of their candidature, the candidate must attend three Postgraduate Symposiums, or another approved event by the Director of the AHURI Research Center at the University of Sydney. One event that helps establish and nurture a housing research community for aspiring researchers is the Postgraduate Symposium. The requirement for scholars is to write a paper to be presented at the symposium before they attend.
2. Upon completion of the first and second years of study, the selected applicant must submit a progress report to the Director of the AHURI Research Centre at the University of Sydney.

University of Sydney Tuition Fee Scholarship

For those who are successful, the University of Sydney offers complete tuition cost offsets for international research students.

A separate application is not necessary. Students who meet the eligibility requirements must produce proof of eligibility and talk about it with their supervisor.
Only successful candidates will receive notification.

The scholarship will cover the cost of tuition for up to 14 full-time research periods.

1. International applicant.
2. Have an unconditional offer of admission or be studying full-time in the University of Sydney’s PhD program.
3. Have a competitive scholarship that provides a stipend of at least $20,000 annually.
4. At the time of consideration, have not spent more than one research period.
Candidates need to present proof of their eligibility and have a conversation with their supervisor about it. If this isn’t done, the applicant can be declared ineligible.
