Western Sydney University offers various scholarship programs to encourage students to pursue higher degrees in research. Each scholarship has distinct application deadlines, eligibility requirements, and restrictions. The scholarships are awarded periodically.
The details below describe the prerequisites for the scholarship releases. If you satisfy the requirements, you will apply for a scholarship.

Western Sydney International Scholarships – Postgraduate
$6,000 annually towards tuition (for a maximum of two years). Benefits will be extended to all eligible applicants who meet the academic requirements for the following postgraduate programs:

- The level of academic success in previous studies will determine the value provided:
- Contributions to tuition costs of $6,000 or $3,000 each year (up to 160 credit points or a maximum of two years) have two possible outcomes.
- Benefits will be applied to tuition for postgraduate programs lasting no more than two years when enrolled full-time.
Eligibility
- Candidates must be international students and not citizens of Australia, New Zealand, or Australia as a permanent resident. During the study period, the scholarship will end if your status changes to one of these.
- Fulfill the academic requirements for one of the multi-year scholarships in their most recent Western Sydney University-recognized postsecondary degree.
- Fulfill any additional entry requirements, accept their offer of admission, and start a new course of study in 2025.
Candidates are not qualified if they
- Are enrolled in Western Sydney University’s current program of study and apply for a scholarship.
- Avoid starting your studies during the year and session specified in their offer.
- Don’t submit an application and acceptance that is complete.
- Are applying to study a program located at the Sydney City campus.
- Are applying to study a postgraduate program that is less than one year in duration.
- Study less than 80 credit points to complete the program.
- Have you been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
- Are enrolling in a higher degree research program, e.g., a PhD.
Application and selection process
No application is required. Scholarships will be automatically awarded to all new coursework applications for admission. If you are accepted, your Offer of Admission letter will detail your scholarship offer.
Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships
| Benefits | 50% of tuition fees per session for full-time students enrolled for a maximum of two years during the degree’s duration. |

| Programs | All postgraduate coursework degrees registered with CRICOS must last at least one year and no more than two years. This excludes higher-degree research programs, postgraduate research degrees, and master’s degrees in clinical psychology, nursing practice, and research. |
Criteria
- Be an international student who is not a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, or a permanent resident of Australia. If, during the study time, your visa status changes to one of these, the scholarship will be terminated.
- Started a new course of study in 2025 after being accepted at Western Sydney University.
- Fulfill the scholarship’s academic requirements, which include finishing higher secondary school with a minimum GPA of 5.95 out of 7.0 or above.
- Satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their admission offer by the acceptance deadline.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- Are a citizen of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
- Study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University.
- Are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and apply for a scholarship for their existing program of study.
- Seeking to make an application for advanced standing for their program prior to or after enrolment.
- Do not apply to study at Western Sydney University and/or be accepted by the closing date.
- Are applying to study a program located at the Sydney City campus.
- Awarded another scholarship by the University or another organization that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.
- Are applying to study for a postgraduate research degree.
