The Bond University HDR Scholarships, a competitive application process, are used to grant the Bond University PhD Scholarships. These scholarships honor and acknowledge students who have demonstrated excellence in the classroom, leadership, athletics, and community service. Bond University aims to provide top-notch Higher Degree by Research (HDR) opportunities to guarantee students’ success in their training and research projects.
Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship
The general living expenses of both local and international students pursuing research doctorates are supported by the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) stipends.

Scheme and description
PhD candidates from local and foreign universities who want to pursue further education through a PhD program are eligible for scholarships. A highly competitive application process is used to offer the RTP scholarship. Depending on merit, the Bond University HDR Scholarships Committee meets twice yearly to provide living stipends and fee waivers. A student is not eligible if receives a scholarship or equivalent award from the Commonwealth that intends to cover HDR expenses.

Eligibility
The following are the considerations:
- A legitimate offer letter from Bond University for a Ph.D. program or a Professional Doctorate of Occupational Therapy.
- You must be studying your program full-time
- If your prior application for a Bond University Higher Degree Scholarship was denied, you can reapply with a statement of your updated circumstances. Those who do not receive a scholarship after their second attempt are not eligible to reapply.
How to Apply
- Both domestic and foreign HDR students enrolled in or planning to enroll in Bond University’s doctoral research program are eligible.
- Once you get a valid Letter of Offer from Bond University’s Admissions Department for admission to a doctorate research program, your scholarship application will be approved.
- Specific admissions applications can take six to ten weeks to process. Ensure you give yourself enough time to process your admissions application before the deadline for the scholarship round.
The following documents are necessary as part of your application assessment.
- Proposal for Research Project
- Official academic transcripts for every course you have taken, detailing your progress and marks received, together with details about the scales and grading policies of the respective institutions and proof of completion
- Official translations into English of non-English documents Translation Requirements at Bond University
- Provide evidence of your English language competence (see Bond University’s English Language Requirements). Attach any research papers and conference presentations. Also, attach your Curriculum Vitae (CV) or LinkedIn URL if English is not your first language.

About the scholarship
- Bond University values the cohort of students pursuing higher degrees through research and offers significant direct financial support to many of them. Bond University allots money to cover living stipends and fee offset (waiver) expenses.
- Doctorate candidates from domestic and foreign universities who want to pursue a PhD program in Higher Degree Research (HDR) are eligible for restricted scholarships.
- Scholarships will be given out via a competitive application process.
- By a merit-based selection, the Bond University HDR Scholarships Committee meets twice yearly to grant living stipends and fee waivers.
