Cornell Grants and Endowed Scholarships
The cornerstone of Cornell’s undergraduate aid program, which has a long history of affordability and accessibility are Cornell grants and endowment scholarships. In contrast to student loans, Cornell grants and endowment scholarships are considered “gift aid” and are determined solely on need. Cornell does not accept repayment. Eligibility is based on the information you report on your CSS Profile applications as a first-year student or your FAFSA form as a continuing student.

Up to proven financial need, Cornell grants and endowment scholarships are given out following federal, state, and other outside grant or scholarship support. The amounts differ.
Cornell Endowed Scholarships
 Named endowment scholarships may be available to undergraduate students who qualify for a Cornell grant. No further application is required. For each endowment fund, endowed scholarships are given in conjunction with Cornell grants to qualified undergraduates who meet donor established standards or preferences.
