| Scope of the program | The University of Trinity College offers a demanding and thorough curriculum called the Master of Theological Studies (MTS), intended for those who want to thoroughly understand theological subjects like biblical studies, historical theology, systematic theology, and ethics. This program aims to give students the critical thinking abilities needed for academic research, theological reflection, and various ministry and public service roles. Students can interact fully with current theological and related areas of concern through the MTS program, designed to suit a wide range of theological interests and career goals. Graduates of the MTS program are equipped with the necessary skills to work in practical contexts such as educational settings, non-profit organizations, and religious institutions or to pursue additional academic study. The Master of Theological Studies program at Trinity College is very relevant and has the potential to have a significant impact in Pakistan and other nations. In Pakistan, where interfaith dialogue and religious diversity are essential elements of the country's social fabric, an MTS graduate can be extremely helpful in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration amongst various religious communities. The program's focus on ethical thought, critical thinking, and thorough theological education equips graduates with the necessary skills to tackle intricate religious and social challenges, promoting a calm and mutually respectful atmosphere. Similarly, MTS graduates can support interfaith activities, educational initiatives, and community development projects that try to close gaps between various faith traditions in other nations with diverse religious landscapes. |
| Program entry requirement | Five of the program's twenty-course credits—prerequisites for the Old and New Testaments, history, theology, and pastoral theology—must be completed as introductions to the Bible. These must be complemented by two additional courses in the four program areas: biblical, historical, pastoral, and theological studies. In their final term, all students must enroll in a one-credit independent study course, where they will complete a summative reflecting exercise culminating in a significant paper or substantial report. A piece of creative writing, such as a poem, graphic design, or musical creation, with written commentary can also be included in the summative assignment. As the culminating reflective task, those considering pursuing graduate-level theological education are encouraged to finish a two-credit thesis. With the remaining five or six courses being electives, students can focus their studies on topics that interest them. |
