Scope of the programConrad Grebel University College's Master of Theological Studies (MTS) program with a thesis provides a thorough and in-depth examination of theological topics, ethics, and religious practices. Students interested in gaining a deeper grasp of theological concepts and their application in a variety of national and global contexts, such as Pakistan and other nations with rich religious histories, find the curriculum especially suitable. Given that the majority of people in Pakistan are Muslims, the field of theology has a great deal to offer, especially when it comes to comprehending how Islam and worldwide Christian theology interact. For scholars concentrating on comparative theology, peace studies, or religious history, investigating interfaith dialogue, the cultural integration of religious practices, and the socio-political role of religion in Pakistan might be crucial. There are many chances and challenges for religious scholars to participate in discussions on subjects like extremism, religious pluralism, and the place of religion in government in Pakistan's complex theological environment. Similar platforms for engaging with the challenges of faith, modernity, and multiculturalism are provided by theological studies in other nations, including the United States, Indonesia, India, and portions of Europe. Examining theological answers to secularism, the emergence of new religious movements, and the moral implications of international concerns like economic inequality, environmental justice, and human rights are all made possible by these locations. Through a thesis that can address these local issues, students in the MTS program can contribute unique research and offer scholarly insights with real-world applications in a variety of religious, social, and political contexts.
