Curtin University seeks to provide high-achieving students from all over the world with the chance to pursue their dreams while receiving a world-class educational experience. Curtin’s Merit Scholarship recognizes qualifying overseas students.
This scholarship category gives qualifying students 25% off their first year of tuition.

All postgraduate degrees (master’s by coursework alone) are open to overseas students.
Eligibility criteria
This scholarship is only for:
- International, fee-paying, non-sponsored students of any country (except Australians).
- Students who reached or above the higher academic cut-off score set by Curtin for this Scholarship.
- Students will begin studies at Curtin’s Western Australia campuses for the first time in 2024.
- Students starting a full Curtin master’s study program.
Please note that this scholarship:
- Covers a maximum of 25% of the first-year tuition fee up to a MAXIMUM of 200 credit points only.
- Can be applicable in full for students only who are completing a minimum of 400 credit points in their major course.
- Will only amount to 25% of the first-semester tuition fee for students who are completing a minimum of 300 credit points within their mainstream course.
- This will only cover the tuition expense of the student and will not include any other expenses.
- Will be credited to the recipient’s fee account on the census date of the study term.
- Scholarship money credited cannot be retrieved or reimbursed in cash.
- Curtin’s discretion can revoke the award if the applicant already holds a scholarship or support.
- Can be withdrawn if the recipient does not accept the Letter of Offer or enroll in their course by the stipulated deadline.
- If a beneficiary defers their studies after the start date of 2024, they will be unable to be kept.
- CANNOT be transferred to any Curtin campus or partner outside of Western Australia, or to another university.
- There will be no extension beyond the time or amount unless Curtin expressly states otherwise.
Application process
There is no requirement for a separate scholarship application.
2024 Global Curtin Study Abroad Scholarship
Curtin University is glad to provide a one-semester Study Abroad scholarship to our Study Abroad students. It offers qualifying students a 25% discount on one semester of the 2024 not-for-degree study abroad tuition fees.

Eligibility criteria
The scholarship is only for:
- An international student, not-for-degree study abroad, and non-sponsored student.
- Enrollment in a Curtin non-degree study abroad program in 2024 (course).
- Students who will be studying at Curtin Western Australia (WA campus) for the first time in 2024.
- Students who meet Curtin’s entry requirement for the course.
To keep the scholarship:
- The applicant must enroll full-time in a non-degree study abroad program throughout the award year.
- Must not defer the Scholarship beyond 2024.
- Abide by Curtin’s policies and procedures, Student Charter, and not guilty of serious misconduct.
- While getting this Scholarship, you must not have received, held, or been awarded another Curtin Scholarship.
- No transfer is available to a Curtin campus or partner outside of WA or another university.
- Must meet the Terms and Conditions of the Scholarship either voluntarily or involuntarily. In case of revoke, the student must pay any outstanding fees for the not-for-degree study abroad program at Curtin.
