Royal Roads University (RRU) offers a dynamic learning environment for graduate students and various funding options to help manage their costs. It also provides many scholarships for international students to pursue their studies.
Values-Based Leadership Bursary

Eligibility
- Enrolled in the Executive Leadership MA program or the Graduate Certificate in Values-Based Leadership program.
- Proven necessity for money.
- Most qualified to explain how their leadership in line with values has improved their community.
How to apply?
- Students who are (or will be) enrolled in their program by the deadline are eligible for the In-Course Award.
- The competition will occur annually from June 1 to August 1 (closing at 11:59 p.m. RRU time), subject to funding availability.
- MyAdmin is used to submit applications online. Upon logging in, the whole list of competition awards will be accessible.
- One-page essay with your name in the upper margin that addresses the requirements for eligibility for all awards in that competition.
Mackenzie King Scholarship
Value: $ 8,500 to $10,500

Eligibility
- Graduates of Canadian universities may apply for the Open Scholarship to pursue graduate studies in any field, both domestically and abroad. One Open Scholarship is given out every year. The current amount is roughly $8,500, but that figure could fluctuate.
- Graduates of Canadian universities may apply for the Travelling Scholarship to study international relations or industrial relations at graduate schools in the US or the UK. Four annual scholarships, each worth $10,500, have recently been offered, though the number and amount are subject to change.
How to apply?
Applications are submitted to the Financial Aid & Awards office of RRU by current graduate students and alums of RRU’s undergraduate program. RRU may enter two applications in the national competition for each of these scholarships.
