As northern Manitoba’s lone university institution, connecting rural and indigenous communities to educational opportunities is vital. The University College of the North (UCN) provides various undergraduate education programs designed to fulfill the different needs of students desiring to be educators in northern regions. These programs aim to provide students with the academic knowledge, practical skills, and cultural awareness necessary to succeed in teaching jobs in Indigenous and non-Indigenous environments. University College of the North Programs provides a variety of undergraduate degrees in education, including Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programs with specializations in Elementary, Secondary, and Indigenous Teacher Education.
