Bolton College of Education was originally famous as the Bolton Mechanics Institute when began in 1824. The University of Bolton scholarships
Alumni Loyalty Discount
International students are eligible to qualify for the Alumni Scholarship Discount if they have previously studied at the University of Bolton. This entitles the award-holder to a £1,000 fee waiver if they meet our criteria. The confirmation for this award is for the 2022/23 academic year.
The University of Bolton has some of the most affordable student fees in the UK and the cost of living in Bolton is lower than most parts of the UK.
The Provost £600k Scholarship
We are happy to announce a new accommodation scholarship to top-performing international students; academically or those with extra-curricular excellence.
The University of Bolton provides a supportive and positive learning environment and is proud to be offering 50 new international students one year of free accommodation in Orlando Village.
Successful students will save an amazing £4,500 that would have been paid in rent; this offer starts from September 2023 but is limited to one year of free accommodation per student.
Alumni Loyalty Discount
Amount: £2000 will be paid as a tuition fee waiver and will be made over the anticipated duration of the course.
Eligibility for the Alumni Loyalty Discount
In order to be eligible you will need to demonstrate that:
You have successfully completed an undergraduate Honors Higher Education course of study or PGCE/PGDE/PDE/Cert Ed at the University of Bolton. There are no restrictions on how long ago the qualifying course was completed.
You must be studying a full-time or part-time Taught master’s course on the University of Bolton campus. Any courses that qualify for undergraduate funding are not eligible for the Alumni Loyalty Discount as students on these courses are eligible to apply for undergraduate funding from the Student Loans Company. Please note the award will be paid for full 180 credit Masters’s courses only, not partial Masters’s courses or any other type of course.
You must not receive any sponsorship towards your tuition fees, for example, from an employer.
No other awards can be received in conjunction with this award.
The course of study must have commenced in September 2023 or January 2023. Retrospective applications from students who have started in previous academic years will not be accepted.
Applying for the Alumni Loyalty Discount
Eligibility for the fee waiver will be automatically identified upon application to the University of Bolton. There will be no application process for eligible students to complete.
Students will be notified via their University email address after enrolment in their course of study.
The Student Funding Team will then confirm the details of eligible students with the Invoicing team, who will adjust the invoices accordingly.
If you defer entry onto your course of study you will need to re-apply for the Alumni Loyalty Discount before the commencement of your studies.
Postgraduate High Achievement Award
The award is for four full-time UK, EU, or International Masters students, irrespective of their financial means, who progress to a University of Bolton Taught Masters Course.
Amount: This award is to be paid as a full tuition fee waiver.
Eligibility for the Award
In order to apply you will need to demonstrate that:
You have successfully got a First-Class Honours degree from a UK or EU institution.
You must be studying a full-time 180-credit Master (taught) MA or MSc course on the University of Bolton campus. PGCE/Cert Ed courses and master’s courses that qualify for undergraduate funding are not eligible courses for this award.
You must not receive any sponsorship towards your tuition fees, for example, from an employer.
You must not be in receipt of any other award from the University.
The course of study must have commenced in September 2021 or January 2022.
You must be willing to be an active ambassador for the University of Bolton.
Please note that even though you may fulfill the eligibility for the Award this does not guarantee you will receive one due to the restricted number of awards available.
