The University of Buckingham is the oldest of England’s five private institutions and operates on a non-profit basis. Originally, the University College at Buckingham came into being in 1973 and began to accept students in 1976. It was awarded university status under a royal charter in 1983. It also held the sixth position in the National Student Survey 2020 for student satisfaction at the University of Buckingham. The University ranks in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021 as one of the top 20 in England for teaching excellence. The University of Buckingham is very selective and challenging for foreign applicants, with an acceptance rate of only 18%.

High school: Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) at 50% or better + Foundation or Bachelor of Arts / Commerce (Pass)

A bachelor’s degree from a recognized higher education institution, equivalent to a British Bachelor’s (Honours) degree, with a minimum of a 2:2 (or the level of which will differ for each school of study).

Buckingham University Scholarships for undergraduate and postgraduate
University of Buckingham Bursary
Value: Students receive a termly tuition fee discount of £500 every term, totaling £2000 per year.
To be eligible, you must be
1. A UK undergraduate student enrolled full-time
2. Starting your studies in September 2021 of the academic year 2021/2022 while receiving a maintenance loan of at least £7,500
3. The bursary will be awarded to qualified medical school students for the first time.
4. Of their 4.5-year degree, two years.
5. Students enrolled in three terms of study during a Foundation Year are eligible for £1,500 for the year (£500 each term).
6. If they make good progress, students will then be eligible for £2,000 per year for the remaining portion of their degree.
Terms and conditions
1. Students enrolled in a placement year are not eligible for the bursary.
2. The University of Buckingham Bursary is given out every year, provided that the recipient makes a smooth transition to the following academic year.
3. To qualified students, the Buckingham Bursary may be given in addition to the High Achiever Scholarship.
How to apply
Although you don’t have to apply directly for this bursary, you must be approved for a government maintenance loan to be eligible. Once our Student Fees Administrator has reviewed your Student Loan Company (SLC) statement for the current academic year, we will verify your eligibility.
Postgraduate First-Class Scholarship
Both domestic and foreign students with a First-Class Bachelor’s Honours degree that meets UK standards are eligible for a postgraduate scholarship. Applicants for taught postgraduate degrees* who have earned a UK First Class Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent credential from another nation will automatically be granted it. The scholarship will result in a 33% reduction in tuition.

1. You must have been offered this scholarship to be eligible.
2. A Buckingham study space.
3. Only new students are eligible for these rewards.
4. A current undergraduate student at Buckingham who wants to stay on.
5. Students who enroll in postgraduate programs with us are qualified for a variety of fee reductions, which are determined by their undergraduate academic standing.

Beloff Scholarships
Available scholarships: Two scholarships
Worth: £2,250 are available Joining the program in September are students who apply to public policy and demonstrate a strong interest in and enthusiasm for political economy. Applicants for the Beloff scholarships must submit their applications by July 15th and include an 800-word essay detailing their post-program objectives and reasons for being interested in applied political economy. Decisions must be made by August 15th. In addition to any other bursaries or scholarships to which a student may be eligible, they may pursue Beloff scholarships.
