International Scholarships
Algoma University offers scholarships to help with the expense of tuition. Most scholarships are awarded on the basis of your most current academic record and academic merit.
Entrance Scholarships
Criteria for Entrance Scholarships:
- According to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act of Canada, international students who are eligible for the following awards must be enrolled in the class on the first day of classes and hold a temporary resident visa.
- All students who are required to pay the international differential fee, including those transferring from college or university, those pursuing a second degree, and those who have earned a college diploma, are eligible for the Entrance Scholarship.
- Before starting classes at Algoma University, students must fulfil all of their prerequisites during the academic year.
- International scholarships cannot be postponed. The students must accept the terms and conditions of admission and the scholarship granted for the year the offer was made.
- Students enrolling in the Winter or Spring term will be eligible for awards in the next academic year, since grants require enrolment over two semesters within an academic year (Fall/Winter).
- Only undergraduate degree programs are eligible for entrance scholarships.
- Students must receive an unconditional admissions offer before July 8, 2024, to be eligible for entrance scholarships for the 2024–2025 academic year.
Since they already qualify for a sizable tuition discount, American citizens are not eligible for these scholarships.
*Please be aware that entrance and renewal scholarships are being reviewed for the 2024–2025 school year and could change at any time.
