Aberystwyth University is a public research university in Aberystwyth, Wales. Founded in 1872 as University College Wales, it became a founder member of the University of Wales in 1894 and changed its name to the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth. In the mid-1990s, the university again changed its name to become the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

Foundation
UK universities offer foundation programs for those students who do not meet direct entry requirements.
30 weeks: Higher Secondary School Certificate with a minimum of 55% overall and in relevant subjects.
15 Week: Higher Secondary School Certificate with a minimum of 65% overall and in relevant subjects.
English requirements vary from IELTS 4.5 to 5.5.
Undergraduate
HSSC (Standard XII) with 75% overall includes 75% in major subjects.
GCE A levels 104-128 UCAS tariff points. BCC-ABB
English Requirements: IELTS 6.0 – 6.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
Postgraduate
4 years bachelor’s degree minimum 58% or above

Entrance Examinations & Merit Awards
Worth up to £2,000 a year
Applicants for our Entrance Exams sit two exam papers which last an hour and a half each. Depending on the marks you achieve in both papers, you could receive up to £2,000 a year and a guaranteed place to study at AU.

All exams will be online. Veterinary Science and Nursing applicants are not eligible to sit the Entrance Exams.
