University of Newcastle

The University of Newcastle in Australia also referred to as UON, is a higher research government platform set up in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. It came into existence in 1965, with its main body being in the Callaghan neighborhood of Newcastle. The institute also has multiple campuses around the world. The Australian Medical Council later regulated the use of the problem-based learning approach throughout Australia, but the University was first introduced by the University, Medical School for its undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine program. In the early 1990s, it was a pioneer in the implementation of the Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT). Since then, many medical schools in Australia have recognized UMAT as an extra criterion for admission.

The University’s ranking is also excellent as it owns 146th position among the best universities in the world. Whereas, the University ranking is 18. Also, the University World ranking, often known as the University of Newcastle QS ranking, is 122. Another plus is the University of Newcastle Australia acceptance rate of 87%.
