Birmingham, England’s University College Birmingham is a government institution of higher learning. In 2012, it shared full university status with Newman University. It is not a part of Universities UK.

The university was selected “The University of the Year” and took first place in the “Student Support” category of the 2022 WhatUni Student Choice Awards. Instead of being a branch of Birmingham’s Municipal Technical School, the institution came into being as the College of Bakery, Catering, Domestic Science, and Related Studies. It has undergone a number of changes since then, and in 2012 it was granted university status, making it a respectable institution of higher learning.
