Griffith University scholarships include both tuition cost reductions and living stipends, allowing you to focus on your research excellence without financial restraints.Â
These scholarships may get support by the business partner or jointly get funds by the industry partner and Griffith University. The grant is valid for up to three years of full-time study in a PhD program. The industry top-up funds differ amongst the arrangements. Doctoral applicants may get a six-month extension under certain circumstances.

How to find a partner
There are various approaches to discovering an industry partner to collaborate with, including:
- Utilizing your networks—contacting an industry partner and collaborate on a project idea together (this may be your employer who could support you during your studies)
- Using your supervisor’s networks, work as a team to approach and cooperate on a project proposal for an industry partner.
- Applying for a project through an advertised industry relationship.
Eligible external organisations
An industrial partner/external organization, often known as a research end-user, is any entity (nationally or worldwide) that is not owned by a university, such as:
- Private enterprises, start-ups, and businesses
- Not-for-profit organizations and charities
- Government (local, state, and federal)—this includes agencies like CSIRO.
- Community groups and organizations.
The following entities are excluded from this definition:
- Other higher education providers
- organizations that are affiliated, controlled entities, or subsidiaries (such as medical research institutes) of a higher education provider
- Equivalents (nationally or globally) of the above exclusions.
Eligibility
Those who apply for admission as a PhD candidate must possess:
- A bachelor’s degree with first-class honors (often necessary for Model B).
- A Bachelor’s degree with second-class honors (Division A) (often necessary for Model A).
- A master’s degree with a major research component from a popular university is to be of equivalent quality.
- A record of research or qualification awarded by a professional or other entity that is considered to be of equivalent quality.
Griffith University selects applicants for higher-degree research fellowships according to their academic merit and research background.

The Research Scholarships Table lists available options. Please see each offering for entry requirements. Applicants must submit an expression of interest, and after the selection as per the preference of candidate, they should apply for the program and scholarship.
