HDR Scholarships for International Candidates
Applications for 2026 HDR scholarships for International Candidates close on 31 August 2025
- HDR scholarships do not cover international health insurance and relocation expenses.
- Before applying for a student visa, foreign applicants must pay for health insurance. For individuals seeking a PhD, the cost of international health insurance is $4,140; if they are travelling with a spouse or family member, the price is $15,162 and $23,413, respectively.
- International applicants need to be aware of Australian living expenses and other fees.
- Applicants will have their applications considered for all the opportunities for which they qualify.
International Research Training Program Scholarship

Postgraduate Research Scholarship

| Inclusions | $33,500 per year living allowance stipend |
| Duration: | An MPhil takes two years, and a PhD takes three years. |
| Exclusions | Overseas health cover, relocation expenses, Student Services, and Amenities Fee. a |
JCU Singapore Postgraduate Research Scholarship

| Inclusions | Tuition costs and/or a living allowance stipend of SGD 31,000 per year. |
| Duration | Two years for an MPhil and 3.5 years for a PhD |
| Requirements | Must spend at least the first year of candidacy in Singapore and have a Primary Advisor stationed at JCUS. |
| Exclusions | International health insurance, moving costs, student services, and an amenities fee. |
Please make sure you are eligible for the course of your choice before applying. You will only be eligible to apply for a scholarship if you are enrolled in school.
