Laurentian University offers a variety of scholarships and bursaries to support graduate students for PHD programs.
Ontario Trillium Scholarship Program for International PhD Students
Dean’s Entrance Scholarship
International PhD candidates with exceptional research potential are eligible to apply for the Trillium Scholarship to any PhD program at Laurentian University Canada. With the help of this scholarship, international students will be able to integrate their academic background with research and critical thinking in a Canadian university. The annual value of each scholarship is $40,000. This scholarship is only available to those who have just applied.
The selection criteria are as follows
1. A department or program must nominate and rate the candidates. Please contact the program coordinator or your supervisor to apply for this scholarship.
2. An international student is currently studying outside of higher education in Ontario.
3. A first-class average throughout the last two years of intensive coursework.
4. Scholarships and additional honors granted.
5. Length of earlier research.
6. Ability to express ideas logically, succinctly, and clearly. The candidate’s PhD research proposal will assess this criterion, which should be at most four pages.
7. Honors won for talks given or papers published in earlier research.
8. Participation at conferences.
9. Involvement in university committees and boards.
10. The calibre of the contributions made to development and research.
11. Relevance of academic background and professional experience to the research field.
12. Importance, viability, quality of suggested study, and rationale for tenure location.
Dean’s Entrance Scholarship
Master’s and PhD students can apply for this merit-based scholarship, valued at $1,500 and
$3,000 for PhD students. Upon enrollment, students are immediately eligible for this grant.
