PhD candidates will be granted funding subject to the following requirements:

  1. Must enroll full-time.
  2. Must apply for University scholarships (December) and SSHRC funding (October) and be available on campus during office hours in the Fall and Winter quarters (years 1 and 2 of the program). Departmental funding will be reduced or eliminated if an application is not submitted.
  3. Must continue to maintain an acceptable program-wide academic standing

The offer package for students accepted into a PhD program will include general financing information.

After approval of the offer of admission, students will receive information about the tasks they will be assigned.

Students can decline an offer of employment as a teaching assistant or sessional instructor without affecting their chances of getting into a graduate program.
