The University of Melbourne is the oldest university in Victoria and the second oldest in Australia, bean in 1853. According to Best Global Universities, the University of Melbourne ranks #27. It is still the top-ranked Australian university, coming in at number 37 in the world according to THE. In law and education, the University of Melbourne comes 10th and 12th respectively, in the QS World University Subject Rankings 2020.
Scholarships are available to exceptional overseas students who have finished their foundational studies in Australia or secondary school outside of the country. For overseas students, the University of Melbourne Scholarship 2024–2025 is completely financed. High-achieving domestic and international students pursuing graduate research degrees are eligible to apply for this award.
Melbourne International Undergraduate Scholarship
Scholarships will be available to high-achieving students who completed their foundational studies in Australia or secondary school outside of the country and are studying in undergraduate programs.
This scholarship provides either a:
- Remission of the first year’s $10,000 tuition for undergraduate students
- Remission of 50% of tuition fees for the first three years of an undergraduate degree, or 100% of fees for the same three years

Eligibility
- You must not be a permanent resident of Australia and be a citizen of a nation other than Australia or New Zealand to be eligible for this award.
- Done with a foundation program in Australia or a secondary school outside of Australia.
- Obtained an unconditional offer from the University of Melbourne for a course at the undergraduate level.
- possess a high school diploma that puts you in the top 3%, like:
- GCE A-levels: a minimum of three A* marks in numerical terms, along with an average score of 97% in the top three subjects
- Most foundation studies in Australia yield an overall result of at least 98%.
- A GPA of at least 3.9 and either an ACT score of at least 31 or a SAT score of at least 1500 are required for US high school admission.
- A minimum cumulative score of 97% at Canada Secondary School
- At least 98% overall on the India Secondary School (CBSE, ISCE, or State Board) exam
- Vietnam High School: a cumulative GPA in Year 12 of at least 9.7.
Selection criteria
Students that have the highest selection score based on their past academic performance are eligible to receive different perks from this grant. The selection scores are determined at the time of selection and may differ across years.

Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships
International students can apply for the Commerce Undergraduate International Merit Scholarships if they are beginning a Bachelor of Commerce degree. For the length of the course, the scholarship gives 50% fee remission (up to 300 credit points).

- have finished a recognized Year 12 program, or something similar, that satisfies the prerequisites for the Bachelor of Commerce
- have an unconditional offer for the Bachelor of Commerce.
