Scholarships are available for outstanding international students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs. The University of Queensland scholarships offer financial assistance to international students through various need or merit-based scholarships. Fully Funded Scholarship in the University, Australia aims to reward the achievements of outstanding school leavers and gap year students.

International Onshore Merit Scholarship

Eligibility

1. are an international students
2. have completed your most recent qualification in Australia.
3. have achieved a competitive score as determined by the University when ranked among the pool of offer holders for programs in their commencement semester.

And you:

1. have received an offer to study full-time at UQ commencing Semester 1 or 2, 2024 in an Approved Program. This includes most undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a few exceptions.
2. have satisfied the program entry and English language proficiency requirements.
3. will enrol full-time.

And you have not received:

1. received another scholarship, tuition fee reduction or rebate from UQ.
2. a full scholarship or sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships or sponsorships may be considered).

How to apply

You don’t need to submit an application for this scholarship.

UQ International Excellence Scholarship

Eligibility

1. are an international students
2. high school leaver and have achieved an entry rank of 99.
3. are an undergraduate student or postgraduate student and have achieved a GPA equivalent of 6.75 and above (on the UQ 7-point scale).

And you:

• have received an unconditional offer to study full-time at UQ commencing Semester 1 or 2, 2024 in an eligible program. This includes most undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a few exceptions.
• have satisfied the program entry rank and English language proficiency requirements.
• will enrol full-time.

And you have not:

• received another scholarship, tuition fee reduction or rebate from UQ.
• received a full scholarship/sponsorship from another organisation (applicants with partial scholarships/sponsorships may be considered).

How to apply

You don’t need to apply for this scholarship.When you apply to study a program at UQ, you’re automatically considered for this scholarship if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Science International Scholarships

Eligibility

• are an international students
• commencing your first semester at UQ
• are commencing an approved UQ Faculty of Science program (minimum one-year duration). See Terms & Conditions for a full list of approved programs.

And you:

• have met the conditions of your offer by the scholarship’s closing date (you don’t need to accept your full offer by the scholarship application deadline)
• demonstrate strong academic performance in your previous studies.

How to apply

Complete the online application form.

You’ll need:

• a personal statement demonstrating your capacity to create change and contribute to science

Make sure you attach all your supporting documents before you submit your application.

You’ll need to submit your online application by 10:00am AEST on the closing date.

Selection criteria

We’ll consider:

• your academic performance (based on the academic credentials you submitted in your UQ Faculty of Science program application)
• your capacity to create change and contribute to science (based on the personal statement you submitted in your scholarship application).
