Western Sydney University Scholarships for International Students 2024
Western Sydney University, formerly known as the University of Western Sydney, is a multi-campus public research university in Australia Located in Sydney’s Greater West area. On January 1, 1989, the University of Western Sydney (UWS) officially opened for business. In the list of Best Global Universities, Western Sydney University is placed #234th. In the QS World University Rankings 2024, it is placed #=375. With an overall score of 4.0 stars, Western Sydney University is rated 301 in Times Higher Education’s World University Rankings.
A variety of overseas student scholarships are available from Western Sydney University for both undergraduate and graduate study. Each year, the university awards $20 million in scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic performance.
Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships
Benefits | fifty half (50%) of the total tuition costs for each session of full-time enrollment for the maximum of three years during which the degree is being completed. |

Programs | Any CRICOS registered undergraduate degree. Note: excluding the Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy. |
Criteria
- Be an international student rather than a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, or any country with permanent residency status in Australia.
- Begin a fresh course of study in 2024.
- Have been given permission to enroll at Western Sydney University.
- Meet the academic requirements for the scholarship, which include finishing a higher secondary program with an ATAR of at least 90 or better.
- Meet all other prerequisites for admission and, by the acceptance deadline, accept their offer of admission.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- An Australian or New Zealander citizen, or someone who resides permanently in Australia.
- Studying overseas or hosting an exchange student at the university.
- Presently studying in a program of study at Western Sydney University and have applied for a scholarship for it.
- Intend to apply, either before or after enrollment, for advanced standing in their program.
- Avoid applying to Western Sydney University and being accepted before the deadline.
- Are requesting to enroll in a course of study at the Sydney City campus.
- Have received another scholarship from the university or another group that pays all or a portion of the tuition for studying at Western Sydney University.
Application period
There is no need for a separate application, the consideration will be automatic.
Western Sydney International Scholarships – Undergraduate
Benefits | A contribution to tuition fees of $6,000 per year (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) or $3,000 per year (up to 240 credit points or three years maximum) |

Eligibility
Scholarship awards depend on academic performance in a Year 12 qualification completed or on an equivalent program approved for entrance by Western Sydney University.
Applicants must:
- Be international students and not citizens of Australia, New Zealand, or Australia as a permanent resident. The scholarship will end if, during the study period, your visa status changes to one of these.
- Launch a fresh academic curriculum for the first time in 2024.
- Be requesting to enroll in an undergraduate degree program that is registered with CRICOS.
- Meet the prerequisites for academic eligibility for the $3,000 or $6,000 multi-year award.
- Fulfill all other prerequisites for admission and accept their offer of admission.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- An Australian or New Zealander citizen, or someone who resides permanently in Australia
- An exchange or study abroad student visiting the university
- Presently, studying in a program of study at Western Sydney University and have applied for a scholarship for it.
- Intend to apply, either before or after enrollment, for advanced standing in their program
- Avoid applying to Western Sydney University and being accepted before the deadline.
- Are requesting to enroll in a course of study at the Sydney City campus.
- Have received another scholarship from the university or another group that pays all or a portion of the tuition for studying at Western Sydney University.
Application period
After filling out the form, scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
To minimize disappointment, it is encouraged that students accept the scholarship as soon as feasible.
Sustainable Development Goals – International Undergraduate Scholarship

Criteria
Applicants must:
1. Send in a completed admissions application no later than two months prior to the start of the session.
2. Study abroad and not be a citizen of Australia, New Zealand, or another country, nor a long-term resident of Australia. The scholarship will end if, during the study period, your visa status changes to one of these.
3. Launch a fresh course of study in 2024
4. Have been given permission to enroll at Western Sydney University
5. Meet the academic requirements for the scholarship, which include completing a higher secondary education program with a minimum ATAR of 90 or above.
6. Meet all other prerequisites for admission and accept their offer of admission by the acceptance date.
Applicants are not eligible if they:
- An Australian or New Zealander citizen, or someone who resides permanently in Australia
- Study overseas or visit the university as an exchange student.
- Presently, studying in a program at Western Sydney University and have applied for a scholarship for it.
- Intend to apply, either before or after enrollment, for advanced standing in their program
- Avoid applying to Western Sydney University and being accepted before the deadline.
- Are requesting to enroll in a course of study at the Sydney City campus.
- The university has given out another grant that pays all or part of the tuition for students to attend Western Sydney University.
Application and selection process
There is no requirement to submit separate scholarship applications. All new applicants to the university will have their applications automatically evaluated for scholarships.
