HDR Scholarships for International Candidates
The International Candidates’ 2024 HDR Scholarship Application Period is now closed.
- HDR scholarships do not cover relocation costs and international health insurance.
- Foreign applicants must pay for health insurance before applying for a student visa. As of June 2023, the cost of overseas health insurance for a single person pursuing a Ph.D. is $4,140; if a spouse or family member is traveling with them, the price is $15,162 and $23,413, respectively.
- International applicants need to be aware of Australian living expenses and other fees.
- Applicants will have their applications considered for all the opportunities for which they qualify.
International Research Training Program Scholarship

JCU Singapore Postgraduate Research Scholarship

| Must commence | 1 January to 31 May 2024 |
| Inclusions | tuition costs and/or a living allowance of SGD 31,000 per year. |
| Duration | 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for MPhil |
| Requirements | Must spend at least the first year of candidacy in Singapore and have a Primary Advisor stationed at JCUS. |
| Exclusions | Overseas health coverage, relocation expenses, Student Services, and Amenities Fee. |
Please make sure you are eligible for the course of your choice before applying. You will only be competitive for a scholarship if enrolled in a course.

Fresh International Applicants: Please state in the candidacy application that you want to be considered for an HDR scholarship. You do not need to submit a separate application for this James cook university phd scholarship.
