Flinders University in Australia is a higher educational government research platform in Adelaide, South Australia. University came into existence in 1966, and Matthew Flinders, a British sailor who explored and mapped the South Australian coastline in the early 19th century, is honored in its name. The Innovative Research Universities (IRU) Group includes Flinders University South Australia, a thriving institution. FU was a pioneer in the development of a multidisciplinary approach to education, and its faculties of medicine and humanities are ranked among the top ten in the country.
