About University

A public institution for higher education in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada. It is the only institution in Canada located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula on the Niagara Escarpment, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Maj.-General Sir Isaac Brock, who oversaw the defense of Upper Canada against the United States during the War of 1812, is honored by having his name attached to the university. It is a comprehensive institution with over 19,000 students that offers world-class academic programs.

Brock University ranking

It is one of the top Canadian institutions for post-secondary education. According to the Brock University QS ranking, it ranks between 1001-1200th worldwide. Moreover, 31st is the Brock University Canada ranking. In addition, for the fourth year in a row, Brock was ranked first among all comprehensive institutions in Canada in the annual Maclean’s University Rankings for the level of mental health resources provided to students. Furthermore, in the same national group, Maclean’s placed Brock in the Top 3 for student happiness and the Top 2 for the caliber of the academic guidance offered to students. Additionally, in terms of research publication production and impact metrics for undergraduates, it ranks third among Canadian institutions in 2008. Besides that, around 73% is the acceptance rate.

Brock University graduate programs

Brock provides many programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including professional degrees. Moreover, the university’s seven academic faculties—Applied Health Sciences, Education, Humanities, Mathematics and Science, Social Sciences, Graduate Studies, and the Goodman School of Business—offer more than 70 undergraduate and almost 50 graduate degrees. In addition, ten Canada Research Chairs are at Brock. It ranks fifth among all Ontario institutions for 3M national awards for outstanding teaching. Furthermore, the MICA program is exclusively available here, both domestically and globally. Additionally, the sole undergraduate program in public health in Canada is provided by the Department of Health Sciences at Brock University Canada.
