Canadian Mennonite University or CMU is a private higher education institution in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. CMU is an innovative Christian institution that came about in 2000 as a consequence of the merger of three independent local colleges. In 1998, the province government established the institution to provide university-level degrees. CMU became a member of Universities Canada (previously AUCC) in the fall of 2008. As a CMU college, Menno Simons College offers two majors that are completely integrated into the Bachelor of Arts program at the University of Winnipeg: Conflict Resolution Studies and International Development Studies. In Canada and Guatemala, the Outtatown Discipleship School offers rigorous, immersive, cross-cultural instruction.
