The University of Guelph is an Ontario, Canada-based comprehensive public research institution. Its abbreviation is U of G. It began operations in 1964 as a result of the merger of the Ontario Agricultural College, the MacDonald Institute (1903), and the Ontario Veterinary College (1922). It then continues to expand to an institution with nearly 30,000 students and 830 full-time faculty as of fall 2019.
