The Technical University of Munich is a multi-campus research-based public institution with its main campus in Munich, Germany. Munich Technical University was established in 1868 and is one of the nine premier technological universities in Germany that make up the TU9. Furthermore, the Technical University Munich is a technological university with eleven academic departments, supported by various research centers. Also, it focuses on engineering, technology, medicine, and the applied and natural sciences. Over 30% of the 40,000 students that attend the Technical University are from outside the country. Sixteen Nobel Prize winners and 23 Leibniz Medalists are among TUM researchers and alums, which continuously ranks among the top institutions in the European Union. The University’s ranking is impressive for being 38th among the best 50 global universities. According to the T U ranking in Germany, it currently has the highly coveted 1–5 spot in the country. In addition, the university is in the 49th position according to the University world ranking, often known as the Technical University of Munich QS ranking. Limited students can obtain admission due to the 8 percent technical university of Munich acceptance rate.
