American University of Sharjah

The American University of Sharjah is one of the private universities in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah began it in 1997. It is a non-public, non-profit, coeducational higher education school set up under the American liberal arts paradigm. The institute mixes professional education courses with a broad-based liberal arts education and is famous for its multicultural environment and academic achievement. AUS, which operates in Sharjah’s University City, has over 5,000 students from 94 countries and a full-time faculty of over 360 from 48 different countries. The university consists of three colleges and one school. It includes the College of Architecture, Art and Design; the College of Arts and Sciences; the College of Engineering; and the School of Business Administration. In addition to 16 master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems Management, AUS provides 48 minors and 26 majors for undergraduate students.
