De Montfort University, located in Leicester, England, is a public institution in Leicester. It came into being in 1992 as an organization that awards degrees in accordance with the Further and Higher Education Act. The name of De Montfort University is said to have been inspired by Simon de Montfort, the 13th-century Earl of Leicester. Ranking the university as one of the best in the UK is standard. According to the THE (Times Higher Education) University Ranking 2023, De Montfort University is ranked 601–800, making it one of the top 800 universities in the country. Meanwhile, the university ranked in the QS World University Ranking 2024 between 801 and 1000. The university is renowned for its state-of-the-art teaching and research in specialized fields that few other colleges provide, such as contour fashion and footwear design. 

Entry Requirements Undergraduate

1. A Foundation or Level course.
   
2. The option to advance to year two or year three exists. Complete information must be submitted, including completed courses, grades, syllabus, and grading criteria.
   
3. You need to do more than walk into an undergraduate program. If so, consider enrolling in an international first-year program or an international included bachelor’s degree at Leicester International Pathway College, located on the DMU campus.

Postgraduate

1. A four-year bachelor’s degree (BSc or BEng) with a GPA of 2.2/4.0 or above from an accredited university or an equivalent.
   
2. A four-year bachelor’s degree (BA or BBA) with a GPA of 2.6/4.0 or above from an accredited university or an equivalent.
   
3. Some courses require a degree in a related field or to meet extra requirements for admission, such as a portfolio or work experience.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your first language, you must present an IELTS score or its equivalent. The IELTS prerequisites for undergraduates are:

1. IELTS 6.0 is required for art and Design, business, computing, and engineering studies.
2. IELTS 6.5 is required for law courses.
3. For courses in media and humanities, IELTS 6.0–6.5.
4. IELTS 6.5–7.5 for courses in science.

Postgraduate

1. IELTS 6.0 is required for courses in business and computing.
2. 6.0-6.5 is the IELTS requirement for courses in art, Design, and engineering.
3. IELTS 6.5 is required for courses in humanities, media, law, and science.
