In order to be qualified to apply for this scholarship, candidates need to:
- Be a citizen of a nation other than New Zealand or Australia and apply to begin an undergraduate or graduate-level coursework program.
- Apply as a new international student for the intakes of 2023–2024.
- Pay all of your fees as a non-sponsored student.
- Not available to those with humanitarian or other permanent visas.
- Apply to a course that is on the list of acceptable programs.

Recipient obligations
- Continue to enroll full-time at one of La Trobe University’s Australian campuses and make good academic progress throughout their studies.
- During their study term, the beneficiaries of the scholarships must agree to represent La Trobe International as an international student ambassador.

How to apply
- Applicants must submit a completed application for the course starting in the Summer 1 / Term 6 (November) or Semester 2 (July) intake of 2023 at La Trobe University’s Victorian campuses.
- Before the application closing date, applicants must also submit the following documentation:
- An extensive CV
- A 300-word personal essay or a 4-5 minute video explaining “Why you should be awarded the La Trobe University Excellence Scholarship” will be submitted.
