International Student Scholarships
We would like to tell you about the foreign student scholarship here.
Please take note:
- By mid-July, the summer semester results will be distributed.
- By the middle of December, the winter semester results will be distributed.
General details
TUM funding opportunities for international students that are financed by budgetary resources from the Bavarian government.
Financial aid is one-time and ranges from €500 to €1,800 every semester. You are eligible to reapply every semester.
Eligibility requirements for TUM scholarships
- Who, as of the third semester of their bachelor’s degree or the second semester of their master’s degree (or as of the first semester of their master’s degree, if the bachelor’s degree has been completed at TUM), are ineligible for BA G because of their nationality.
- Submission of the master’s or bachelor’s thesis by December 31 for the winter term and June 30 for the summer term.
- Merit: academic solid standing
- Since double funding is prohibited, you are not eligible to apply for this scholarship if you have already applied for and been chosen as a recipient of the scholarship for students impacted by the conflict in Ukraine.
- The scholarship will not be paid while on leave.

- Please provide a 100–200-word explanation of your financial situation in either German or English.
- Resume or CV TUM grade report (available for download on TUM online)
- Two suggestions
Additional details:
- Applications must be complete in order to be approved.
- The suggestions must be turned in by the deadline (15 November or 15 May) if you or your instructor submit them later.
