Toronto Met Graduate Scholarship (TMGS)

$15,000 is paid to the TMGS in three equal installments per term. You must have received up to six years’ worth of government-funded graduate awards, such as those from CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC, Vanier CGS, OGS, OTS, or QEII-GSST, to be eligible to hold a TMGS. If you are offered any of the awards above, you must choose to either forfeit or reject them. Other Ontario OGS and QEII-GSST qualifying universities’ awards for PhD or Master’s degrees, are included in a lifetime.

TMGDA or top-up funds may be considered for students who meet the requirements.

● At least one academic year (two or three terms in a row)

● Up to two years at most (six consecutive academic sessions).

How much can I get?

The amount of terms you complete in a given academic year as a consecutive student determines your OGS award:

● $10,000 for two consecutive study terms

● $15,000 for three consecutive study terms

Lifetime Maximums

The OGS awards maximums are:

○ Master’s students: 2 academic years

○ Doctoral students: 4 academic years

○ Lifetime limit (all students): 6 academic years

Who is eligible?

OGS is a merit-based scholarship. The school you intend to attend determines the criteria for evaluating and ranking your application.

1. Must also fulfill the following requirements to be considered.

2. Will be enrolled in graduate programs to earn a master’s or doctorate.

3. For the academic year you’re applying, you’ll enroll in a full-time program that lasts two or more terms, spanning 52 weeks.
