The University of Western Australia scholarships for international students

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is a public research institution in Western Australia. The university’s main campus is located in Perth, the state capital. In 1911, UWA was established by a Western Australian Parliament legislation. It is ranked #72 in the QS World University Rankings 2024. It is ranked #83 among the Best Global Universities. Western received an almost flawless score of 95.8 out of 100 in the Times Higher Education 2023 Impact Rankings, which placed the university ninth overall out of more than 1,700 universities worldwide. 

UWA offers many scholarships that allow our students to successfully complete their courses by improving their financial situation. The Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship provides 10 successful students with a one-off $50,000 scholarship towards their course fees and other university costs.

UWA INTERNATIONAL STUDENT AWARD

Students from a few chosen nations can receive a fee discount of $5,000 year through UWA’s International Student Award. The Award makes it possible for more students of various nationalities to pursue their academic and professional aspirations at UWA and contributes to the development of a diverse student body. 

Applications for the $20,000.00 value are open until December 16, 2024.

Eligibility

1. To be eligible to be considered for the scholarship, candidates must.
2.  Meet the eligibility criteria specified (Eligible Courses) (Eligible Citizenship).
3. Eligible undergraduate courses include all undergraduate bachelor pass, bachelor honours (integrated), or bachelor double degree courses offered by the University.
4. Notwithstanding an application into an undergraduate degree course at the University, a candidate is not eligible for the scholarship if their offer of a place includes, or is amended to include, an assured pathway into:
   1. Doctor of Medicine (90850)
   2. Doctor of Dental Medicine (90860)

Dr Merab Tauman Memorial Scholarship in Economics

In order to encourage exceptional students in their third year of undergraduate studies majoring in economics, the late Dr. Merab Tauman left money to The University of Western Australia (‘the University’). 

Eligibility

In order to qualify for a scholarship,

1.  A candidate must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree program with a major in economics.
2. Have earned at least 96 points towards the degree.
3. Unless the selection committee determines that there are exceptional circumstances that prohibit full-time enrolment.

 Criteria for continuation

The recipient must:

1. Remain enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree course with a major in Economics unless there are exceptional circumstances which preclude full-time enrolment.
2. Make adequate progress in line with the guidelines for the course for which the scholarship is given, and twice a year, by the deadlines set by the university, confirm that they are still eligible for the scholarship.
