About University

The University of Wollongong, is a governmental research platform based in the seaside city of Wollongong, New South Wales, some 80 km from Sydney.  Above 2,000 students were enrolled at UOW Australia as of 2017 (including over 12,800 students from 134 different countries who were studying abroad), together with over 2,400 employees and 131,859 alumni. The UOW came into existence in 1975 as a stand-alone school. Wollongong University has awarded more than 120,000 degrees, diplomas, and certifications since its founding.

The University’s ranking is also excellent as it owns the 203rd position among the best universities in the globe. In addition to this, the University ranking in Australia is 10th. Also, the UOW world ranking, often known as the University of Wollongong QS ranking, is 185. Another plus is the University of Wollongong acceptance rate of 30%.
