University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo, informally, (UWaterloo, UW, or Waterloo) is an Ontario, Canada-based public research university with its main campus in Waterloo. The university began operation in the year 1957. The principal campus stands on 404 hectares (998 acres) of land in “Uptown” Waterloo and Waterloo Park. The university also has three satellite campuses and four university colleges adjacent to it. Besides that, Waterloo is a member of Canada’s U15, a network of research-intensive institutions. Six faculties and thirteen faculty-based schools conduct academic programs at the institution.
