Deakin-funded undergraduate scholarships

Deakin recognizes students who consistently do well academically and can impact the institution and its communities significantly. The Deakin International Scholarship will be automatically awarded to unsuccessful applicants for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship.

Benefits

This scholarship is offered for the entire length of your degree and is equivalent to 25% of your tuition fees.

Important dates

Any student beginning their studies at Deakin is eligible for this grant. Applications for scholarships should be sent in at least one month before you start your studies at Deakin.

The H911 (Doctor of Medicine) will not be eligible for this scholarship.

Criteria for eligibility

In order to be considered for the scholarship, candidates need to:

  • Be a prospective international student at Deakin University pursuing a degree through coursework
  • Be qualified to attend Deakin University.
  • Have attained an average of at least 65% (or its equivalent) in earlier research.
  • All criteria must be met.

For the limited number of scholarships offered, successful applicants will be chosen through a competitive process. They might have to achieve a score that is higher than the required minimum.

Additional documentation

A completed application for the Deakin International Scholarship Program and a 300-word personal statement are required.

To study at Deakin, you must submit a complete application along with your academic transcripts.

Your personal opinions must be reflected in your statement.

A summary of your motivations for attending Deakin Univerity. A summary of your extracurricular activities and volunteer or paid job experience, your reasons for believing you would be a great ambassador for Deakin University, and any additional details that will help your application.

Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The International Scholarship of the Deakin Vice-Chancellor Students who consistently do well academically and can significantly impact the University and its communities are recognized by Deakin.

  • Successful candidates will be accepted into the Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (VCPEP).
  • Deakin’s esteemed student leadership program, offering a 50% partial tuition award or a full 100% tuition scholarship.

Eligibility and selection

Applicants must:

  • Potential international students can enrol at Deakin University.
  • Not having any other Deakin bursaries or scholarships.

Fulfil the academic requirements.

The Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship requires a prior study average of 85% or higher. A 65% average (or above) in prior coursework is required for the Deakin International Scholarship.

  • Applicants for the Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship must submit a completed application for the Deakin International Scholarship Program (refer to the back of this brochure).
  • 300-word personal statement
  • My academic transcripts and two references who can attest to your leadership abilities and/or community involvement filled out the Deakin application.
