About University

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology is a primary member of the TU9 body and is officially recognized as a research-based public institution in Karlsruhe, Germany. Karlsruhe Research Facility and the Institution of Karlsruhe amalgamated to form the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT in 2009. KIT won the excellent designation in 2006 as part of the German institute’s Excellence Initiative. In 1972, one of the top technological universities in Germany and Europe founded the first computer science faculty in that country. In addition, the German institution conducts the most robust engineering and natural science research, as determined by various bibliometric records.

Being ranked 180 among the top 200 universities in the world is noteworthy for the ranking. According to the University ranking in Germany, it has the 20th position. In addition, the university is in the 136th position according to the University world ranking or the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology QS ranking.
