What are Ivy League Universities?

The term Ivy League initially referred to an athletics conference established by a group of prestigious universities and colleges in the Northeastern U.S. Still, the name has now come to guide academic institutions collectively. Ivy League relates directly to the sports conference and the eight universities’ intellectual, admissions, and social classes.

The University of Pennsylvania

Penn is committed to creating a community of students, scholars, and staff that reflects the diversity of the world we live in. Nearly half of Penn’s undergraduates self-identify as students of color, more than half are women, 13 percent are among the first in their families to attend college, and 13 percent are international.
